Kia chose the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show to introduce its new hatchback-cum-SUV, the Venga. But attracting more attention were hybrid versions of two of the South Korean manufacturer’s other models, the just-facelifted Ceed and new Sorento. In two very different ways.
In addition to a complete inside-and-out redesign, the big story for the new-for-2013 Range Rover was the weight savings -- about 700 pounds worth thanks to an all-aluminum unibody structure. On Wednesday, we caught wind of the 2014 model. Word on the street is Jaguar-Land Rover's 3.0-liter supercharged V6 will replace the normally aspirated V8 for next year.

Electronic stability control and anti-whiplash head restraints should soon be part of the Euro NCAP crash test programme, CAR Online can reveal. Testers are keen to extend the programme beyond today's crash tests, which assess occupant safety for adults and children, as well as pedestrian injuries in an impact. 'We are always looking for the next area to investigate,' an NCAP insider told CAR Online.
